Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Invest Alternative (“Invest Alternative”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit investalternative.com (the “Site”) or subscribe to the Invest Alternative newsletter (the “Letter”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site, the Letter, the guides we send by email, and any other page or message that links to it.

1. What we collect

Information you give us

• Your email address, when you subscribe to the Letter or request a guide. This is the only field on our forms. If you reply to an issue, we also receive whatever you write and the name on your email account.
• The context of your signup: which page you subscribed from, which guide you requested, and, if you arrived from an advertisement or a link with tracking parameters, the campaign identifiers in that link (the utm parameters) and the referring site.

Information collected automatically

• Email engagement. Our email provider records whether an issue was delivered, opened, or clicked, and which links were clicked. Opens are measured with a tracking pixel, which many mail clients now block; we treat open data as approximate.
• Site analytics. Pages visited, the referring page, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and the time of the visit. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (IP address, request, timestamp) for security and reliability.
• Advertising measurement. When we run advertisements, the advertising platform (for example Meta) may place a pixel on the Site that records a page view and a signup event so the platform can measure the campaign. Those platforms process that data under their own policies and may link it to your account with them.

We do not ask for, and do not want, your name, address, financial details, account numbers, holdings, or any information about your investments. Please do not send them to us.

2. How we use it

• To send you the Letter, the guide you requested, and occasional notes about Invest Alternative.
• To understand which subjects, sections and links readers value, so we can improve the Letter.
• To measure whether an advertisement or a partnership brought new readers, and what it cost.
• To keep the Site and our email list secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

We do not sell your email address. We do not rent our list. Sponsors of the Letter, when there are any, receive aggregate statistics (how many people opened or clicked), never individual addresses.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses browser storage to remember small conveniences during a visit, for example that you have closed a signup prompt, and to hold the campaign parameters from the link that brought you here until you subscribe. Analytics and advertising pixels may set their own cookies. You can block or clear cookies in your browser; the Site works without them. To limit advertising measurement, use the settings your ad platform provides (for Meta, the “Ad preferences” and “Off-Facebook activity” controls) or a browser that blocks third-party trackers.

4. Who processes your information

We use a small number of service providers, each bound by its own terms and privacy commitments:

• beehiiv (New York, USA) stores our subscriber list and sends the Letter and the guide emails. Your email address, signup context, and email engagement live in beehiiv.
• Vercel (USA) hosts the Site and keeps server logs.
• Advertising and analytics platforms such as Meta and Google, only when we run campaigns or analytics through them, and only for the measurement described above.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the publication, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

5. Retention

We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is retained on a suppression list so we do not email you again, and engagement history is kept in aggregate form. Server logs are kept for a short, rolling period. You can ask us to delete your address entirely (see section 8).

6. Your choices

• Unsubscribe at any time with the link at the foot of every email. It takes effect immediately.
• Do not open or click if you would rather not be measured; the Letter reads the same.
• Block trackers in your browser to stop analytics and advertising pixels on the Site.

7. Your rights

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request its deletion, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. Advertising measurement pixels may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out by blocking those pixels as described in section 3 or by contacting us.

Readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. We process your email address to perform the subscription you asked for, and engagement and analytics data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the publication. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Our service providers are in the United States; transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Residents of other states and countries with similar laws may exercise the equivalent rights the same way.

8. How to reach us

Reply to any issue of the Letter, or write to Invest Alternative, 1065 SW 8th St #2079, Miami, FL 33130, United States. We will respond to privacy requests within the time the applicable law allows, and we may ask you to confirm the request from the subscribed email address.

9. Children

The Site and the Letter are written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has subscribed, contact us and we will remove the address.

10. Security

Your information is held by providers that use industry-standard safeguards, and access on our side is limited to the people who produce the Letter. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee against every unauthorised access, and we will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your data.

11. Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the Letter. Continuing to read the Site or receive the Letter after a change means you accept the revised policy.
